ESG

Our strategy for greater sustainability

For more than 25 years, sustainability has been an integral part of our corporate identity and business strategy. We firmly believe that it is essential for the success of our group of companies to create circular business models and focus on resource-efficient products, as well as to promote the talents of our employees by creating secure jobs in an authentic, team-oriented environment. Because for a sustainable future for us all, we must act today.

Environment

As a major player in the European printer supplies industry, we are committed to understanding and reducing the impact of our activities on the environment. We have committed ourselves to adhering to strict standards in order to combat climate change, raw material and supply chain dependency, and the increasing transgression of planetary boundaries. From administration to logistics, we identify and exploit potential in all areas of our daily business to make our group more resource-efficient – because environmental protection must not end with printing.

For example, we have already switched all of the more than 1 million annual shipments made by TPG member companies to FSC-certified shipping packaging. We have purchased machines that recycle our suppliers' shipping packaging into cushioning material. This saves us up to 600 kg of paperboard every month. And with the development of our greenline division, we are setting a new standard for sustainable printing supplies.

Social affairs

Our employees are the foundation of our company's success. Ensuring their emotional and financial well-being, as well as tolerance and social justice among all stakeholders, is particularly important to us.

We assess employee satisfaction annually in an anonymous survey. Whenever job profiles allow, we offer flexible working time models and the option of working from home. Salaries are adjusted annually on the basis of a standardised review process. In addition, our logistics staff, who are particularly busy during the peak season, receive an additional bonus. All departments receive a fixed budget for employee welfare, which can be used for team meals or sports activities, for example. Team leaders and specialists can regularly take advantage of individual training programmes and coaching.

Leadership

CYAN GROUP has established transparent and responsible governance that aims to take into account the interests of all stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, customers and the environment. An independent supervisory structure has been put in place to ensure integrity and compliance with regulations and laws.

We strive for gender parity at the management level. Forty per cent of C-level reporting positions, including key functions such as Head of Finance, Head of Marketing and Head of Business Management, are already held by female executives. At the team lead level, the figure is as high as 54 per cent.
